Ok - thank you all for your inquiries. Altersys and RSR - We decided on air/air for reasons you mentioned plus to maximize the SURFACE AREA (as Carlos mentioned). Carlos - we are doing a tube and fin design and have engineered the air flow to pass through as many channels (or rows) of IC piping as possible with very thin fin walls. Funny you mention gold actually, because we have looked at what we can coat the copper with. The easiest choices are gold, nickel, and chrome, then could be painted gloss black for a stealth "look". We still haven't decided on this yet though. Although copper is 2.5x heavier, the overall weight increase won't be that much because we're not making an entire FMIC. Imagine a 2-piece FMIC with about a 14" opening to keep the oil cooler and radiator cool. (I go to track events, and will need the cooling). We do add some weight, but I got rid of my cast iron downpipes and midpipes to stainless steel, so saved some weight there =). After they are completed, I'll post pictures and drawings to show you how they will be plumbed (not the traditional way). Enjoy...
